Bridges Restaurant

Granville Island landmark in the heart of Vancouver

Located on the western tip of Granville Island in the heart of Vancouver, Bridges has been a landmark restaurant operation since 1980.  The views of the city skyline, north shore mountains and the marine activity of False Creek cannot be beat!

Bridges has a stunning location, overlooking the fishing boats in False Creek and the mountains of the North Shore. The 2nd floor dining room features a vaulted ceiling highlighting the original beams and trusses of this 1920's building, with floor to ceiling windows capturing every part of the view. In a casually elegant atmosphere, the chef presents a menu featuring fresh seafood, rich meats and local produce.

Bridges Patio: An Institution

The patio at bridges is nothing less than an institution in Granville Island—the place to be in the city when the sun comes out to play—and this year is no exception.

The Place to Be for Seafood and Fish!

Indeed, for years now, Vancouverites know that the surest way to tell if summer has truly arrived is when the 2nd Beach Swimming Pool in Stanley Park and the Patio at Bridges Restaurant officially open for business. This summer season at bridges is especially exciting as we’re going to be making some mouth-watering menu changes, namely a renewed focus on what we do best—Seafood and Fish.

What better way to enjoy the summer in Vancouver’s Granville Island than trying out our refreshing seafood and fish fare! Our bistro chef, Ross Collier, and his team have been working around the clock to unveil these new, fresh, fantastic, and handcrafted dishes for a truly savoury summer experience.

Our Story

Bridges Pub, with its industrial look reflecting the original nature of Granville Island, started to serve the public at the end of December 1980.

Summer employees return to work year after year, turning summer jobs on the Dock into a sort of summer camp. Fifteen of Bridges current employees have been with the restaurant for over 20 years. Most rewarding of all to the Bridges partnership is the unique family atmosphere among partners, management and employees created over the last 40 years. The partners consider that to be their highest achievement.

Chef Ross Collier

"It’s what people would expect from a restaurant right on the water. We’ve always had great seafood, but now being more seafood driven is perfect. It makes sense, as we love to use fresh local ingredients. With the new menu, I’m sure that people will think of Bridges Restaurant when they think of seafood.” "

Careers @ Bridges Restaurant

What makes our restaurants special? The people on our team and the guests they serve. We work together to create a great environment - one where our customers feel at home and our team members can thrive.

Since opening our doors in 1981, our team members have been crucial to our success. We train our chefs to a high standard and provide all of our staff members and managers with room to grow. This philosophy has lended to what we like to call our “adult summer camp” atmosphere with many remaining part of the story for over twenty-years.

Our common goal is to continue the Bridges legacy while cultivating an appreciation for culinary progress. We don’t want to be the biggest; but always strive to be the best. How will we do it? By providing the tools our people need to be successful and, more importantly, by providing personalized time and support to each individual.
